I think he did it in the Nick of time to avoid triggering “sore loser” laws that could have kept him off the ballot as an independent in many states. It’s sad that the Democratic Party has become so Autocratic that it’s impossible to win as an “outsider”. But that is the reality.

If he’s going to do anything about bad voting machines, he doesn’t have much time. Here in New York State the Dems are getting ready for the election by refusing to pass a bill - VIVA NY - that would save our hand-marked paper ballots and prevent the use of voting machines that encode votes as unverifiable bar codes. There are three days left to the legislative session. I had thought it was due to the excessive influence of formerly powerful legislators hired as lobbyists for voting machine vendors on electeds and community leaders. But it also may be to enable electronic manipulation of election results.

I am really sorry to hear that. I wonder if anyone could get an injunction against the bar code voting machines? That's horrible tech. Any articles or activist links I can forward to the campaign?
